Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut plays the character of BRITT in End of the Cornfield. Check out our interview with Ashlei and learn more about her experience voicing Britt and her upcoming projects.
You recently moved out to LA from NYC. What has that move been like?

Today [Aug 16] is actually my LA anniversary. I’d say the move has been rewarding. Being able to continue working with some really cool people has made the move absolutely worth it.
Why acting? What do you love about it?
Aside from my love of playing dress-up as a kid, I always loved living vicariously through people on screen and on stage. So being able to be that outlet for someone else feels extremely satisfying.
What initially drew you to the project (End of the Cornfield)?
The genre. I’m usually instantly drawn to anything in the mystery/thriller/horror genre, and the fact that this is a podcast too really interested me!
How would you describe your character Britt?
Without giving too much away I’d say she’s smart, a little innocent, and a little sensitive.

Is there a moment or scene (without giving any major plot points away) that resonated with you?
The moment that I want to talk about is a major spoiler, so I’ll plead the fifth.
Who inspires you as an actor?
Too many people to name, but I’ll say my mom.
What are some of your upcoming projects?
At least the one that I’m allowed to talk about now — currently I’m starring in Issa Rae’s new HBOmax show “Rap Sh!t“. Hopefully the others I’ll be able to talk about soon.
